Cowboy Dressage Square Dancing part 2

Cowboy Dressage Square Dancing part 2

“Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
Don’t fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don’t fence me in”.

This is a short video of a young horse in a square pen, learning the aids (hands, legs and seat) with the help of the fence. When I ride my horse toward the (fence) wall, he is going to have a few choices, like stop, turn left, right, or back up. Lightness or soft feel is a result of correct timing, so I ride my horse’s leg leaving the ground rather than the one which is already landed.

I ask my horse to find my inside hand (rein), with the help of my inside leg and let the fence be my outside (rein) hand and leg, and I keep riding forward.

Soft Feel is a result of Creation rather then Correction!
Ride them rather then Guide them!
Too many stops and circles will take the desire of the horse to move forward. So Enjoy the Short Dance! And Happy Trails!
