Transition from the walk to the lope.

It’s more then how, it’s WHEN!

1.-Transition from the walk to the lope.

When your horse’s inside front leg is under your stirrup, lift the horse’s shoulders and engage your outside leg.

2.-Walk your horse in working frame (medium frame).
3.-Shorten your rein to short frame (light contact with the bit) to shoulder fore.
Your inside leg is by the cinch and your outside leg is hanging free.
4.-When your horse’s inside front leg is under your stirrup, lift the horse’s shoulders and engage your outside leg.
5.-The horse will take one step forward with his inside front leg and push forward into the lope with his outside hind. (push – up or half – halt).
